Hot weather and thundery showers accompanied by hail and gusty winds are expected on Wednesday in several Moroccan provinces, the Directorate General of Meteorology (DGM) has announced.
According to the DGM, temperatures ranging from 42 to 45°C are forecast for Wednesday in the provinces of Tata, Es-Semara, Laâyoune, Assa-Zag, Boujdour, Oued Ed-Dahab, and Aousserd, as part of an orange-level weather alert.
Temperatures between 38 and 42°C are also expected during the same period in the provinces of Guelmim, Taroudant, Tan-Tan, and Tarfaya, the DGM added.
Meanwhile, thundery showers with hail and strong wind gusts during storms, with rainfall amounts of 25 to 35 mm, are forecast on Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. in the provinces of Ifrane, Ouarzazate, Azilal, Beni Mellal, Fquih Ben Salah, Boulemane, Midelt, and Khénifra, the same source concluded.
