Morocco Strategic Minerals advances copper targets in Morocco
Morocco Strategic Minerals (TSX‑V:MCC) reports systematic sampling results across its Western High Atlas District in Morocco as the company advances towards its first drilling campaign.
The company collected 77 channel samples from 15 sections along underground Gallery A at its Ouneine project.
Copper grades by section ranging 0.17–5.74% copper (Cu), with eight sections averaging more than 1% Cu and three sections averaging more than 2% Cu.
Surface channel sampling at Ouneine comprised 34 samples from 13 channels. Of the 13 surface channels, six returned composite grades greater than 1% Cu.
At Tanfit, selective rock sampling from underground workings and historical stockpiles returned 13 of 16 samples greater than 1% Cu.
At Ijoukak, underground grab sampling from the 1670- and 1700‑level workings returned 20 of 22 samples greater than 1% Cu, ranging up to 27.68% Cu.
CEO Pierre‑Olivier Goulet says the systematic channel sampling at Ouneine provides grade‑and‑width information needed to refine the geological model.
“The higher-grade mineralised structures emerging from the current interpretation represent attractive drill targets, and we intend to commence the first phase of drilling as rapidly as practicable, subject to final technical validation, permitting, safe access and contractor availability,” Goulet notes.
Morocco Strategic Minerals is integrating current results with geological mapping, historical mine workings, and drone‑based topography to rank targets across its Western High Atlas District.
The Western High Atlas District is a district-scale copper-gold-silver project in Morocco’s Western High Atlas region, comprising more than 57km2 of consolidated tenure across six exploitation licences and two research permits.
