Morocco, Senegal Enjoy ‘Unique’ Relationship, Senegalese FM Says

Morocco and Senegal have a “unique” relationship, Senegalese Foreign Minister Cheikh Niang said during talks with Morocco’s Foreign Affairs Minister Nasser Bourita on Saturday in Luanda, according to Morocco’s Press Agency (MAP).

Niang highlighted the consistency of cooperation and friendship between the two countries, saying the ministers discussed several issues of common interest and found no disagreements on the matters raised.

Bourita said the meeting, held on the sidelines of the 26th Extraordinary Session of the African Union Executive Council, focused on implementing the strategic orientations of King Mohammed VI and Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye to further strengthen bilateral cooperation.

The ministers also discussed a roadmap for bilateral relations and ways to make existing cooperation mechanisms more effective.

Bourita said Morocco and Senegal maintain regular coordination on Sahel affairs, Atlantic Africa, and other regional and multilateral issues affecting the continent.
