Morocco Receives Four Newly Appointed Ambassadors in Rabat

Agadir – Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad Nasser Bourita received four newly appointed ambassadors in Rabat today as they presented copies of their credentials to King Mohammed VI.

According to statements from Morocco’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bourita received Thaer Abubaker, who presented the required copies of his credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Palestine to the King.

Bourita also received Urska Cas, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Slovenia; Luis Guilherme D’Oliveira Viegas, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe; and Edi Irwan Bin Mahmud, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Malaysia.

The arrival of the four ambassadors reflects Morocco’s continued diplomatic engagement with Palestine, Slovenia, São Tomé and Príncipe, and Malaysia.

The presentation of credentials formally marks the start of the ambassadors’ diplomatic missions in Morocco and provides a framework for strengthening bilateral relations between Rabat and the respective countries.

The appointments also come as Morocco continues to expand and consolidate its diplomatic relations with countries across different regions, reinforcing its engagement with European, Asian, African, and Arab partners. 

With Palestine, Morocco maintains longstanding diplomatic and political ties. Rabat has repeatedly affirmed its support for the Palestinian cause and expressed solidarity with the people of Gaza against the genocide. 

Morocco also maintains diplomatic relations with Slovenia, a member of the European Union, providing a channel for bilateral dialogue between Rabat and Ljubljana on matters of mutual interest.

Relations with São Tomé and Príncipe are also part of Morocco’s broader engagement with African countries. Rabat has sought to deepen political and economic cooperation with African partners through bilateral ties and regional initiatives.

Meanwhile, Morocco and Malaysia maintain relations, expanding political dialogue, trade, investment, education, and cultural exchanges.
