Morocco, Netherlands Discuss Strengthening Judicial Cooperation

Casablanca – First President of Morocco’s Court of Cassation and Delegate President of the Superior Council of the Judicial Power (CSPJ), M’hammed Abdenabaoui, held talks in Rabat on Tuesday with Sue Preenen, the Netherlands’ prosecutor general responsible for international judicial cooperation.

Preenen is visiting Morocco as part of a high-level Dutch delegation, according to a statement from the CSPJ.

The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation and exchanging legal and judicial expertise between Morocco and the Netherlands.

Abdennabaoui presented an overview of Morocco’s justice system, including the structure of the judiciary and its constitutional and institutional framework.

He also explained the role and responsibilities of the CSPJ in managing judges’ professional careers and safeguarding judicial independence.

The talks also covered Morocco’s judicial organization and recent reforms aimed at improving the efficiency of court rulings and bringing judicial services closer to litigants.

The two sides discussed ways to deepen judicial cooperation between Morocco and the Netherlands, particularly through stronger coordination mechanisms and greater exchanges of expertise and experience.

They also examined opportunities to strengthen judges’ professional capacities in areas of shared interest.

Both sides expressed their commitment to consolidating the bilateral judicial partnership and strengthening international cooperation to address common legal and judicial challenges.
