Morocco forecasts heat, thunderstorms across several regions

Hot weather is forecast across much of Morocco on Tuesday, with thunderstorms expected in several inland and southern areas, the General Directorate of Meteorology said.

Temperatures will be particularly high in Souss and the southern provinces, while relatively hot to hot conditions are expected in the southeast and across northern and central regions.

Local thunderstorms are forecast over the Atlas Mountains and their eastern slopes, inland Souss and the far south. Rain accompanied by thunder may also affect the southeast and southern parts of the Oriental region.

Low clouds, fog and light rain are expected along parts of the coast during the morning and evening.

Moderate to relatively strong winds may affect the central coast and southern provinces, with localized blowing dust.

Minimum temperatures will range from 10 to 17 C in the Atlas and Rif mountains and reach 24 to 29 C in Souss, the central plains and inland southern provinces.
