Morocco has set out a broad investment offer for Chinese companies, with a focus on industrial projects, infrastructure development, and access to new incentive schemes during high-level talks held in Beijing on Sunday.
Karim Zidane, Minister Delegate for Investment, Convergence and the Evaluation of Public Policies, met Ren Hongbin, head of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), in the presence of Morocco’s ambassador to China, Abdelkader El Ansari.
Zidane presented Morocco as a destination with stable rules, competitive conditions, and structured support for investors. He stated that public authorities stand ready to assist Chinese firms from project design to execution under a clear regulatory framework.
He linked the discussions to the long-standing political and economic ties between Rabat and Beijing, which gained strategic status in 2016. He described China as a key partner for Morocco’s economic policy.
The minister referred to the national reform path led by King Mohammed VI, aimed at improving economic performance and attracting foreign capital. He placed special attention on the new investment charter, which directs capital toward productive sectors and job creation.
Official figures presented during the talks show approval of 381 investment projects, with a total value near MAD 580 billion ($62 billion) and more than 245,000 jobs expected from these projects.
Chinese capital already holds a visible place in Morocco’s investment landscape. Direct investment from China reached about MAD 2 billion ($214 million) in 2025, a signal of rising confidence among Chinese companies in Morocco’s business climate.
Zidane invited Chinese firms to use the available incentive framework to develop projects with higher added value and stronger links to regional and global value chains.
He also referred to large national infrastructure programs tied to preparations for the 2030 FIFA World Cup. These projects open space for cooperation in transport systems, logistics platforms, and mobility services.
He further presented Morocco-China-Africa cooperation as a strategic platform that can support industrial development across Africa through balanced partnerships and shared economic benefit.
The discussions took place on the sidelines of Morocco’s participation in the fourth edition of the International Supply Chain Expo in Beijing.
The event ran from 22 to 26 June under the theme “Connect the world for a shared future” and gathered more than 1,200 companies and organizations from 85 countries and regions.
