Morning One-on-One Meeting Between Presidents Sisi and Christodoulides in Egypt

NICOSIA. Bilateral relations between Cyprus and Egypt were at the center of a meeting held Tuesday morning between President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulides and his Egyptian counterpart, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, during Christodoulides’ visit to El Alamein at the invitation of President Sisi.

According to an official statement, President Christodoulides, who arrived in Egypt Tuesday morning accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Government Spokesman, met with President Sisi for talks that focused, among other issues, on bilateral relations in areas such as energy and defense, regional developments, as well as EU-Egypt relations and the role played by the Republic of Cyprus in further strengthening those ties.

The two presidents then traveled to the venue of the international air show being hosted by Egypt, where they toured pavilions representing various countries before watching an aerial display.
