Millennial Potash Corp (TSX-V:MLP, OTCQB:MLPNF, FRA:XOD) hosted a high-level visit from US Embassy officials to its Banio Potash Project in Gabon last week, the company said, in a trip it described as further evidence of ongoing US government support for the project.
US Embassy Acting Chargé d’Affaires for Gabon Susan N’Garnim led a delegation of American diplomats through the site, reviewing operations, exploration activity and the surrounding communities.
The trip highlighted continued backing from the US Development Finance Corporation, which is supporting Millennial’s Definitive Feasibility Study on the project.
Farhad Abasov, Millennial’s Chair, noted the US government, through the Embassy in Gabon and the DFC in Washington, has supported the project for several years, and that the company valued the chance to strengthen its working relationship with the Embassy.
“The visit by the US Embassy Acting Chargés d’Affaires Ms Susan N’Garnim and the Embassy delegation provided an excellent opportunity for them to witness the scale of the Banio Potash Project, the ongoing drilling and field work, the resource potential, and the extensive involvement of local Gabonese workers on site,” Abasov said. “We appreciate the opportunity to interact with the ACDA and senior diplomatic staff at the Embassy, present our project on the ground, and strengthen the strong working relationship we currently enjoy as a responsible and proactive development company in Gabon.”
The delegation toured the company’s camp and logistics facilities and attended a technical presentation on potash and the progress of the Banio feasibility study. N’Garnim inspected potash-rich drill core from drillhole BA-006 and reviewed drilling activity at the BA-008 site, where crews were advancing casing ahead of cementation.
Millennial is drilling at BA-007 and BA-008 to extend its potash resource base beyond the current estimate of roughly 6 billion tonnes grading around 15.6-15.7% KCl, with the four-hole program set to wrap up in 2026 ahead of an updated resource estimate.
