Mbappe Pulls Ahead Of Yamal As Real Snatch…

Kylian Mbappe continued his fine start to the LALIGA campaign with another goal as Real Madrid defeated Elche 3-2 on Tuesday night.

Los Blancos coach Jose Mourinho brought Trent Alexander-Arnold, Aurélien Tchouaméni, Arda Guler and Dean Huijsen back into the side as Denzel Dumfries, Bernardo Silva, Antonio Rudiger and Jude Bellingham dropped to the bench.

Huijsen nearly marked his return to the side with a goal after 11 minutes with a towering header from a corner, but the defender’s effort forced a brilliant save from goalkeeper Matias Dituro.

Dituro was left helpless in the 25th minute when Guler’s free-kick struck the upright and ricocheted into the net off the goalkeeper, handing Los Blancos the opening goal of the contest.

Mourinho’s men wasted no time in getting a cushion goal as Yan Diomande broke free down the right flank before picking out Kylian Mbappe, who showed the composure to slot home from six yards out, taking his tally to seven league goals and moving top of the Golden Boot chart.

It was more of the same in the second period as Elche were unable to provide any proper threats on Thibaut Courtois’ goal, although they were unlucky not to have been awarded a penalty ten minutes in when Ibrahima Konate appeared to handle the ball in the box.

However, Elche did give themselves some hope with 20 minutes left on the clock when Osario rose above his marker in the box to head home a lovely cross from Lucas Cepeda for his first league goal of the season.

The comeback was complete with seven minutes to play, as Fernando Nino collected a pass from Josan before sending a lovely darting finish into the far corner, leaving goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois with no chance.

However, Los Blancos broke Elche’s hearts in second-half stoppage time when Mbappe turned provider and raced clear down the left before unselfishly teeing up substitute Carlos Espi, who fired into an empty net to seal the win.
