Teams: Real Madrid v Sevilla
Result: 4-1
Scorers: Guler (30′), Mbappe (37′, 63′), Diomande (82′) / Bueno (80′)

Jose Mourinho handed Endrick his first start of the season after his impressive cameo off the bench against AS Roma in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, while Arda Guler also earned a recall in place of the suspended Vinicius.

Los Blancos dominated possession in the early stages of the first half and looked to threaten with the pace of Kylian Mbappe and Yan Diomande down the respective flanks, although clear-cut chances were hard to come by.

The hosts eventually broke the deadlock on the 30-minute mark when Diomande did well to pick out the run of Guler, who sent a superb first-time finish into the top corner from the edge of the area.

Mbappe did get his name on the score-sheet ten minutes before the halftime break as he showed wonderful composure to turn into the box before rounding the goalkeeper and firing into an empty net.

Sevilla, meanwhile, had no response for Los Blancos in the first period as goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was barely called into action.

Mourinho’s men carried the dominance over to the second period and managed to earn themselves a penalty after Mbappe was fouled by Andrés Castrín in the box. The Frenchman stepped up and calmly dinked the ball down the middle to complete his brace.

With Los Blancos comfortably leading, Mourinho decided to make a double change by withdrawing Jude Bellingham and Endrick for Bernardo Silva and Brahim Diaz to see out the final 20 minutes of the encounter.

Sevilla did manage to bag a consolation goal on 80 minutes when Manuel Bueno Sebastian managed to squeeze the ball past Courtois at the near post after being set up by Lucas Stassin.

However, Madrid had the final say as Diomande added his name to the scoresheet two minutes later by surging towards the box and unleashing a powerful strike that left goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos with no chance.
