Patrick Maswanganyi has added another memorable highlight to the Buccaneers’ pre-season tour in Spain after crossing paths with Paris Saint-Germain winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

The playmaker is currently in Marbella with Orlando Pirates as the Soweto giants embark on their fourth consecutive pre-season training camp in Spain. The Buccaneers touched down earlier this week and will remain in Europe until 25 July as they fine-tune preparations for the 2026/27 campaign.

Now on his third pre-season tour in Spain with Pirates, Maswanganyi took to Instagram to share a snap alongside one of world football’s most exciting attacking talents, PSG and Georgia star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

While it remains unclear exactly where the pair met, both players were dressed in training gear, suggesting the encounter took place around their respective pre-season preparations in Spain.

The meeting offered supporters a glimpse of two technically gifted footballers sharing a moment away from competitive action, with Maswanganyi continuing to enjoy his time in Europe before the new season gets underway.

Pirates have lined up a demanding schedule of friendly fixtures during their stay in Spain, with José Riveiro’s former side set to face Córdoba CF on 15 July, Cádiz CF on 18 July, Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Ittihad on 21 July, La Liga side Las Palmas on 22 July and Neom FC on 24 July.

For Tito, the chance to rub shoulders with one of the game’s most exciting wingers adds another memorable chapter to a pre-season tour that will be focused on helping the Buccaneers hit the ground running when the new campaign begins.
