Manchester City are reportedly preparing an offer worth up to €60 million for Moroccan international Brahim Diaz as the club begins planning for life after Pep Guardiola.
According to Italian outlet TuttoJuve, incoming Manchester City coach Enzo Maresca has identified the Real Madrid attacker as one of the ideal profiles for his new tactical project at the Etihad Stadium.
The report claims City are ready to submit an initial bid between €50 million and €60 million to convince Real Madrid to sell the attacker during the upcoming transfer window.
Diaz is seen as a player capable of fitting into multiple attacking roles. The 26-year-old can operate as a winger, attacking midfielder, or central playmaker. His technical ability and creativity reportedly make him a perfect match for Maresca’s vision.
Manchester City are expected to enter a major transition phase following Guardiola’s departure. Club officials are therefore looking for flexible players who can quickly adapt to new tactical ideas.
A potential move would also mark a special return for Diaz. Before joining Real Madrid in 2019, the Moroccan player came through Manchester City’s academy system and made senior appearances for the English side.
At Real Madrid, Diaz remains an important squad option, but strong competition in attack has limited his chances of becoming a regular member. Despite his positive performances and professionalism, the Spanish club could reportedly consider a sale if a major offer arrives.
TuttoJuve reports that an offer close to €60 million could significantly change the situation inside the Santiago Bernabéu. Real Madrid may use the money to finance other transfer targets during the summer rebuild.
Manchester City continue to monitor the situation closely, while Juventus have also reportedly shown interest in the Moroccan international.
