Malkia Strikers coach eases vulnerability concerns ahead of Cameroon showdown

Kenya qualified in the last four after a remarkable 3-1 comeback win over Algeria, while Cameroon swept past Uganda with a 3-0 victory.

The clash will see two heavyweights in the game come against each other in what has been tipped as the final before the final. Kenya have won the African championship 10 times and are the defending champions, while Cameroon have three titles to their name, and are the immediate former champions.

Previewing the highly anticipated clash, Omondi disclosed what his team must do if they are to book a place in the finals.

“We need more front court and back court defense for Cameroon because they are playing hard, tough balls, and so we will need the front and back court to coordinate well,” said Omondi.

His words come after fans expressed fears ahead of the clash, after seeing the Malkia Strikers struggle in some moments of the game against Algeria, including losing the first set.

However, the Kenya Pipeline Corporation (KPC) tactician addressed those fears, assuring fans of the team’s ability to go past Cameroon.

“We have a strategy against Cameroon that is better than what we showed against Algeria that we will execute,” he added.

On her part, captain Meldinah Sande urged fans to fill the arena, and rally behind the team as they did against Algeria.
