Nether Imran Louza nor Othmane Maamma will be at the World Cup this summer after missing out on Morocco’s 26-man squad.
The pair were both named in a pre-tournament training camp, held over the weekend, but were always candidates to drop out once several high-profile players returned.

National team boss Mohamed Ouahbi has now named his 26, featuring PSG star Achraf Hakimi, Manchester United’s Noussair Mazraoui and Real Madrid’s Brahim Diaz.
Maamma had been considered the likelier of the two to make the cut, after taking the Under-20 World Cup by storm last year.
He had not even made his Hornets debut before winning the Golden Ball as his side won the event and went on to impress in his debut campaign at Vicarage Road.

Club captain Louza last played for his country in June 2023, but has returned to form since then and told The Watford Observer last year that he was eyeing a return to the squad.
He earned 15 caps between 2021-23, scoring twice.
Both players, though, will have to resume their battle to earn a place in the squad after the World Cup.
