FULL HOUSE star Candace Cameron Bure knows that social media snaps don’t always reflect real life, and it’s not the likes or appreciation that matters — it’s following God and glorifying Him.

In the Teddy Bear Award® winner’s most recent article in Woman’s Day Magazine, she noted how she used to wish she could share photos of beautiful dishes like her husband, Val, makes.

“But when I got quiet with God and listened to His word, I was reminded that for us to excel in everything — so as to garner ‘likes’ from others — was actually never God’s plan,” she wrote. “Paul writes, ‘We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us…” The win, he says, is in doing the thing we were each created by God to do.”

Her gifts are leadership and discernment, while others may have wisdom or creative gifts.

She continued, “So next time you see that triggering Insta post — of the meal, or the home, or the garden — just notice it and then pivot by saying this simple prayer: ‘God, I’m glad you gave me the gift of _______. May it honor you.’”

Bure just finished hosting the America Reads the Bible event in D.C., which ran from April 18-25.

“It is such an exciting time in history,” Bure told THE STORY on Tuesday. “Never has this been done, to read the entire Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, in such a public platform, to join all Americans together…From entertainers to government officials, to pastors, to moms and dads, to educators, nurses — it’s American people reminding ourselves of who God is in our lives.”

The event commemorated America’s 250th  birthday and featured many celebrities and speakers who took part in reading the Bible aloud.

“We’re a bunch of imperfect people reminding ourselves that we need to be humble, and God is a God above all else,” she said of everyone who read the Bible aloud.

On her social media on April 19, she shared, “What a weekend in Washington D.C. for the historic reading of the Holy Bible. Today we kicked off 7 straight days, 9am to 9pm, over 400 readers, 84 hours reading from Genesis to Revelation. I was honored to be the national spokesperson and read Genesis 6-8.”

“From government officials, to farmers, pastors, entertainers, educators, and everyday American moms and dads, and even the President, we are all united and reminded that we are equal in God’s eyes. God’s love for us is so patient. Let us be reminded of His wisdom and goodness for us when we repent and rend our hearts to Him,” she continued.

She added that she was very honored to be a part of the program, which she calls “a miracle.”

Among various Great American Family movie projects, Bure is also busy with her podcast, which comes out with a new episode every week.
