LIVE: More than 300 killed in renewed Yemen clashes
More than 300 fighters and civilians have been killed since renewed fighting broke out in Yemen on Thursday, according to a tally compiled from military and medical sources on both sides.
The clashes have been concentrated in western Taiz and southern Hodeidah, where Houthi forces launched a major offensive toward government-controlled areas near the Red Sea coast and the strategically important Bab al-Mandeb Strait, Al Jazeera reported.
Government officials told AFP that 84 of their troops were killed between Saturday afternoon and early Sunday, with most of the deaths reportedly caused by missile attacks. Meanwhile, Houthi military sources said 57 of their fighters were killed during the same period.
The violence has also forced civilians to flee their homes.

Houthis claim downing of Saudi CH-4 drone over Yemen
Yemen’s Houthis shot down a Saudi CH-4 armed reconnaissance drone over al-Jawf province, according to the group spokesman, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, Al Jazeera reported.
Saree said the drone was carrying out “hostile activities” over the Khabb wa ash Sha’af District when it was brought down with an unspecified weapon.
