Libya to host youth climate conference in 2026

The Ministry of Youth has announced plans to hold the Local Conference of Youth on Climate, LCOY Libya 2026.

In a statement to mark the World Environment Day on Friday, the ministry said the event aims to amplify the voices of young Libyans and support their role in shaping climate policy.

The conference will be held in cooperation with the Ru’ya Foundation and under the umbrella of YOUNGO -the official youth constituency of the UN climate process.

The event will bring together young people from across Libya to discuss environmental and climate challenges and strengthen youth participation in climate policymaking.

The ministry said the initiative forms part of wider efforts to expand youth engagement in environmental programmes at national and international levels.
