Belarus’ First Deputy Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Minister Maksim Lysenko met with Rafea Al-Aribi, who heads Libya’a Authority for Heritage and Wildlife, sb.by reports with reference to Belarus’ Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Ministry
The parties discussed the management of specially protected natural territories, and the Libyan delegation highly appreciated the state of Belarus’ natural environment. Its members expressed interest in adopting Belarusian best practices in the field of environmental legislation, organising effective management of protected areas and implementing environmental monitoring systems.
The parties also noted the importance of educational programmes and developments on scientific support for the functioning of protected areas.
The possibility of implementing a project on breeding rare bird species of the Falconidae family in Belarus was discussed as a promising area for further co-operation.
Mr. Lysenko confirmed the readiness of the Belarusian side for comprehensive bilateral co-operation and providing necessary assistance to the Libyan partners in matters of preserving the natural heritage.
