Libya, Tajikistan discuss ways to enhance cooperation in water management
The Minister of Water Resources, Hosni Awidan, has discussed with Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan, Daler Juma, ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the areas of water resource management, environmental protection, climate change adaptation, and sustainable development during a meeting in the capital, Dushanbe.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Libyan delegation’s participation in the Fourth High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action, “Water for Sustainable Development 2018-2028,” where the two sides discussed the conference’s outcomes and prospects for joint cooperation between their countries.
The Tajik minister commended Libya’s participation in the conference, praising the Libyan delegation’s contribution to the African Forum held as part of its activities. Both sides affirmed their interest in developing cooperation in the areas of integrated water resources management, dam studies and construction, as well as exchanging expertise and experiences, capacity building, and training.
