Libya launches “Wafed” and “E-Visa Libya” platforms to digitize foreign visa services

Libya’s Government of National Unity has officially launched the second phase of its “Wafed” and “E-Visa Libya” platforms, designating them as the country’s official systems for managing electronic visas and regulating the entry and residence of foreign nationals.

The move follows a directive issued by Minister of State for Prime Minister and Cabinet Affairs Mohammed Bin Ghalboun and forms part of the Prime Minister’s broader digital transformation agenda aimed at modernizing government services, to streamline visa issuance, enhance administrative and security efficiency, and regulate entry through official border crossings in line with Libya’s legal framework.

The directive also requires all relevant ministries, authorities, and government agencies to use the platforms exclusively and complete the necessary technical coordination to ensure full implementation, strengthen data governance, and improve the management of foreign nationals entering the country.
