Libya is participating in the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Week and the High-Level Conference of Counter-Terrorism Agencies, taking place at UN Headquarters in New York from June 29 to July 3, 2026.
The event brings together member states to strengthen international cooperation against terrorism and violent extremism, improve coordination, and enhance global and regional security efforts.
Libya’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the participation allows the country to showcase its experience in combating terrorist groups, highlight progress in strengthening its security capabilities and updating its legal framework in line with international standards, and exchange expertise with participating delegations while exploring opportunities for expanded cooperation with the United Nations.
