Libya, Italy discuss closer sports cooperation
Libya’s Sports Minister Fawad Barghash has held talks with Italy’s Minister for Sport and Youth, Andrea Abodi, on strengthening sporting ties between the two countries.
The meeting took place in Rome on the sidelines of the 20th Mediterranean Games, Taranto 2026.
The two ministers discussed expanding direct cooperation, sharing Italian expertise and experience, and developing Libya’s technical and organisational capabilities.
They also agreed on the need for clear and sustainable institutional frameworks to strengthen sports cooperation between the two countries.
