Libya, China discuss expanding bilateral cooperation

Libya’s Foreign Minister, Taher al-Baour, has held talks with China’s ambassador to Libya, Ma Xueyong, on ways to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting focused on prospects for expanding economic, trade and investment cooperation, as well as benefiting from Chinese expertise in infrastructure, development and reconstruction, energy, health, education and training.

The two sides also discussed encouraging institutions and private-sector companies in both countries to establish partnerships and increase communication.

Regional and international issues of mutual interest were also on the agenda, with both sides stressing the importance of continued coordination and consultation at international forums to support stability and strengthen Libya-China cooperation.

They reaffirmed their commitment to further developing bilateral relations across various fields in pursuit of shared interests.

At the end of the meeting, the Chinese Ambassador presented al-Baour with a commemorative Chinese calligraphy artwork symbolising Libyan-Chinese friendship, in recognition of his efforts to strengthen and develop bilateral cooperation.
