Sudan forced the game to a conclusion after several players suffered injuries, including their goalkeeper and an outfield player, immediately after the 16th goal kissed the back of the net.
This left Sudan with fewer than seven players on the field, which, according to the official Laws of the Game maintained by the International Football Association Board (IFAB) and used by FIFA, a soccer match may not start or continue if either team has fewer than seven players.
With the game halted due to injury, the massive 16-0 victory will stand, handing Kenya a massive goal difference in Group A that includes hosts Tanzania, Somalia, and Sudan.
