Kenya and Egypt are strengthening their partnership in the digital sector following high-level discussions between Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications and the Digital Economy, William Kabogo Gitau, and Egypt’s Ambassador to Kenya, Hatem Yousri Hosni.
During a courtesy meeting, the two officials explored opportunities to expand cooperation in key areas including artificial intelligence (AI), digital transformation, e-government services, ICT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital skills development.
The talks also highlighted the importance of knowledge exchange and capacity-building initiatives to accelerate innovation, promote digital inclusion, and enhance the technological capabilities of both nations. Both sides underscored the value of sharing expertise to support the development of resilient and future-ready digital ecosystems.
Kabogo reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to working closely with Egypt to advance common digital priorities through stronger technology partnerships. He noted that deeper collaboration would help stimulate economic growth, encourage innovation, and improve the delivery of digital services for citizens in both countries.
The meeting underscores Kenya’s continued efforts to strengthen international partnerships that support its digital transformation agenda while leveraging regional cooperation to accelerate the adoption of emerging technologies and build a more inclusive digital economy.
