A lot of soccer,” she said.For longtime Current supporters, the atmosphere surrounding the World Cup has only strengthened the local soccer community.”I think this type of deal, this type of venue, creates a great experience to kind of intertwine it all together,” fan Edward Boone said.The soccer celebration extended beyond the watch party.Boulevard Brewing Company hosted its “Teal Rising Rally” to welcome the Current home after the extended road trip.”I have not heard more conversations about soccer in general than I have in the past four or five weeks. Everyone seems to be buzzing about it,” said Adam Hall of Boulevard Brewing Company.Fans say they’re eager to see the team back on its home field.”They’ve got great players. The players work well together. They have a great reputation within the community. You can’t get much better than that,” Current fan Ann Dwyer Sanders said.Bob Plagens agreed.”Home games are always fun. It’s a great environment. It can’t be beat by any stadium I’ve been to,” he said.The excitement is shared by the players.”Excited to be home. We’ve been on the road a long time.
