Kano Pillars FC on Monday resumed preparations for the 2026/2027 Nigeria Premier Football League season with their first training session at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano.
The session, which marked the start of pre-season activities for the club, was supervised by the club’s technical crew, led by head coach Ahmed Yaro-Yaro and his assistant, Gambo Muhammad.
The players underwent light fitness drills and tactical routines as the coaching crew assessed their conditioning ahead of a more intensive build-up programme.
Before training commenced, Kano Pillars FC chairman Musbahu Garo charged the players to approach the new season with discipline, dedication and a strong winning mentality, describing the campaign as “a season of serious business” for the club.
Garo, who was represented by board member Abba Galadima, said management was committed to providing the support the team needs to compete strongly in the NPFL and secure qualification for continental football.
He urged both players and the technical crew to justify the confidence reposed in them by delivering improved performances and consistent results throughout the season.
Responding on behalf of the team, captain Rabiu Ali expressed appreciation to the club’s management for their continued support and assured fans that the players were fully committed to restoring the club’s competitive edge and achieving its objectives for the season.
Pillars head coach Ahmed Yaro-Yaro thanked the management for its backing and confidence in the technical crew.
He promised that the coaching team would work to assemble a disciplined, competitive squad capable of challenging for honours in the upcoming campaign.
