KINGSTON, Jamaica — World leader Jordan Scott broke the meet record at Wednesday’s JBL Jump Fest in Košice, Slovakia, after he won the Elite men’s event World Athletics Continental Tour Silver event with 17.44m (0.2m/s).

It was back-to-back street meet wins for the World Athletics Indoor silver medallist after setting a personal best 17.66m at a meet two weeks ago in Puerto Rico.

World-Under 20 record holder Jaydon Hibbert, who was competing for the first time since the 2024 Olympics, due to injury, was third with 16.69m (-0.1m/s) behind Cuba’s Lazaro Martinez, who was second with 16.82m (0.2m/s).

Scott broke the meet record 17.20m set in 2023 by Italy’s Andy Garcia in the first round when he jumped 17.43m (-0.6m/s) and then improved on it in the fourth round.

Meanwhile, fresh from her second place at a meet in Germany on Sunday, Jamaica’s Akelia Smith was third in the Elite Women’s long jump with 6.50m (-0.1m/s) just ahead of compatriot Nia Robinson, 6.39m (0.7m/s), who got her best mark in the third round after two foul jumps.

American Monae Nichols won with 6.69m (0.7m/s) with France’s Hilary Kpatcha second with 6.53m (-0.8m/s).
