Jamaican citizen extradited to U.S. following lottery scam investigation in Graves County

GRAVES COUNTY, Mo. (Heartland News) – A Jamaican citizen was extradited to the United States following a lottery scam investigation in Graves County, Kentucky.

According to the Graves County Sheriff’s Office, residents fell victim to a $250M lottery scam. In total, officials say victims lost about $80K from the scam.

The sheriff’s office initiated an investigation.

Several people in Florida and Jamaica were identified as suspects. The fourth suspect was identified as 29-year-old Jenel Chrissancia Rowe, who is known to reside in Florida and Jamaica. An arrest warrant was obtained for her arrest.

According to the warrant, the victims were scammed through the mail and were led to believe they won $250M in lottery winnings. They were instructed to deposit money into Rowe’s account to pay for IRS fees. Rowe was identified as one of the six co-conspirators connected to these crimes.

On Thursday night, August 20, Rowe was brought back to the U.S. by U.S. Marshals. She was flown into the Nashville Airport, where custody was turned over to Tennessee officials. She will face extradition proceedings for her custody to be transferred to the Graves County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities are seeking charges of Theft by Deception and Engaging on Organized Crime.

Three other suspects are being held in area jails awaiting court proceedings.
