Iraq spent $1.541 billion on imports of edible fruits, nuts, citrus peel, and melons in 2025, a 23.3% increase from $1.250 billion in 2024, according to Trade Map data.
The year-on-year rise amounts to approximately $291.5 million. Fresh and dried citrus fruits account for the largest share of that total, at $706.8 million. Bananas follow at $275.2 million, ahead of nuts at $199.2 million, apples, pears, and quinces at $122.7 million, and apricots, cherries, peaches, and plums at $79.1 million.
With these figures, Iraq places among the group of countries importing more than $1.5 billion worth of fruits and nuts in 2025. Global imports of these products reached $192.68 billion over the same period.
The United States holds the position of the world’s largest importer at $25.67 billion, followed by China at $20.69 billion, Germany at $16.27 billion, the Netherlands at $10.45 billion, and the United Kingdom at $8.29 billion.
