Impressive SA U18 obliterate Irish
SA U18 scored eight tries in a crushing victory against Ireland U18 at Boland Landbou on Tuesday.
The hosts won their second match in the U18 International Series 51-15 having led 24-5 at the break.
As was the case in the 52-7 thrashing of the French, SA U18 captain Jacobus de Villiers was a live wire and his high work rate was rewarded with two of his team’s four tries in the first half. The others were scored by wings Lamla Mgedezi and Anesu Kuzonyei.
Following Alex Moloney’s solo try in the opening period, Ireland started the second half brightly when captain and scrumhalf Luke Coffey crossed for their second unconverted try to reduce the deficit.
However, SA U18 responded with two tries by replacement hooker Charles Whitehead to put the game out of reach.
Replacements Stefan van der Vyfer and Clement Makelele added two more tries, while Ireland replacement outside back Johnny Wood bagged a third try for his side.

Earlier on Tuesday, SA U18 A beat Georgia U20 20-0 and England U18 beat France U18 40-26.
The final round of the series takes place at Stellenberg High School on Saturday. SA U18 A take on France at 11:30am, Ireland face Georgia at 1:30pm and SA U18 are up against England at 3:30pm.
