Horror as crocodile handler attacked at Papua New Guinea wildlife park

Terrifying footage shows a worker being mauled by a crocodile at a Papua New Guinea wildlife park.

A worker was in the crocodile exhibit at the Adventure Park in Port Moresby on Saturday afternoon when the reptile attacked.

Video appeared to show the man clinging to the side of the exhibit’s pool, holding a pole offered by a bystander perched on the fence, while the crocodile’s jaws appeared to be wrapped around his legs.

A large, anxious crowd had gathered around the exhibit as the attack unfolded.

Later, a bystander appeared to be supporting the handler from the edge of the pool while he waited for help.

St John Ambulance and police reportedly arrived, with officers shooting the crocodile in order to free him.

The man was rushed to 3 Mile General Hospital for treatment and the extent of his injuries was unknown.

Footage shared to social media previously showed staff had a hands-on relationship with the crocodiles at the park, but it wasn’t clear if the attacked handler was depicted in the videos.
