Health ministry warns of fireworks risks during Prophet’s birthday celebrations

The Health Ministry has warned of the risks of using fireworks and firecrackers during celebrations marking the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday, saying moments of joy can turn into injuries with lifelong consequences.

In an awareness message, the ministry said fireworks cause dozens of injuries every year, affecting different parts of the body, including the hands, face, neck, shoulders and back.

It urged families to keep fireworks and firecrackers away from children and avoid using them altogether to protect their safety and prevent avoidable injuries.

The ministry said celebrations marking the Prophet’s birthday should be safe and free from practices that could put children and other members of the public at risk.
