Flight 13 Can Proceed With Planned Test Flight Thursday From Texas

SpaceX plans to launch the newest version of its Starship rocket later this week after the close of an investigation required by the Federal Aviation Administration into issues from an earlier test flight. The FAA-required investigation of the SpaceX Starship Flight 12 launch mishap is closed and there are no reports of public injury or damage to public property, the agency said Monday. “The FAA oversaw and accepted the findings and corrective actions of the SpaceX-led investigation. The final mishap report cites two most probable root causes for the loss of the Super Heavy booster as heat effects on propulsion system components during the ascent and erroneous engine alarm system settings. SpaceX identified four corrective actions, including vehicle hardware and software configuration updates to prevent a reoccurrence of the event. “SpaceX can proceed with Starship Flight 13 launch operations provided all safety and other licensing requirements are met,&rdquo

NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman was attending a scheduled launch Tuesday of a U.S.-Russian crew to the International Space Station, a sign of the ongoing cooperation in orbit between Moscow and Washington despite tensions over Russia’s military action in Ukraine. Isaacman’s trip to the Russia-leased Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan marked the first visit by a NASA chief in eight years. Boeing Launched Its 737 MAX Family In 2011

Boeing’s 737 MAX family is now the company’s best-selling airplane, surpassing its predecessor, the 737 Next-Generation, or NG, the company said Tuesday when announcing its monthly orders and deliveries total. After booking 100 orders for the 737 MAX in June, Boeing has recorded a total of 7,206 orders for the MAX family. The 737 NG, which is no longer in commercial production, has recorded 7,159 orders. Boeing still books a handful of 737 NG orders monthly to be used as a derivative for one of its defense products.
