Harlequins sign Zimbabwe talent Edward Sigauke

Zimbabwe winger Edward Sigauke has joined Harlequins.

 

Quins announced the signing on Thursday, and the 22-year-old will join his new teammates on 1 September in preparation for the new campaign.

 

Sigauke has represented Zimbabwe 12 times, scoring eight tries since making his debut in 2024 and played a key role in their back-to-back Africa Cup titles.

 

Quins head coach Jason Gilmore said: “Eddie is a player we’ve been tracking and we’re really pleased to get his signing over the line.

 

“He’s got tremendous speed and footwork that makes him a real handful for any defence, and we believe he’s got all the raw tools to become a weapon for us out wide.

 

“What excites us most is his potential – he’s still developing as a player, and we can’t wait to see how he grows within our environment as he takes the next steps in his career.”

 

Sigauke is a product of Lomagundi College in his homeland and went on to represent Emeris University, located in Johannesburg, South Africa.  

 

Harlequins say his electric pace, elusive footwork, and try-scoring instincts have marked him out as one of the most exciting young wingers to emerge from Zimbabwean rugby in recent years.

 

The west Londoners kickstart the 2026-27 campaign in the Prem Rugby Cup, where they’ll face Leicester at home on 5 September.
