New Zealand’s Ford Football Ferns have lost 2-1 to Haiti in their international friendly in Malaga, Spain.
The result was the Ferns’ first defeat in five matches and came three days after Haiti’s men’s national team beat the All Whites 4-0 in a World Cup warm-up match in Florida.
It was the first women’s international meeting between New Zealand and Haiti.

New Zealand took the lead shortly before halftime when Michaela Foster’s free kick found Claudia Bunge in the Haiti penalty area.
Bunge headed home in the 41st minute for her second international goal.
But Haiti responded before the break, with captain Nérilia Mondésir turning in a free kick from the right touchline in first-half stoppage time.
Haiti then completed the turnaround two minutes after the restart when Lourdjina Étienne finished at the back post from another set-piece move.
