The government has held a broad meeting, chaired by Minister of State for Prime Ministerial and Cabinet Affairs, Mohamed ben Ghalbon, to review local market fuel supply situation and discuss reasons for congestion at several distribution stations.
The meeting also addressed the necessary measures to ensure smooth operation of fuel distribution and resolve existing bottlenecks.
The meeting included a review of supply indicators and levels at fuel stations. Brega Oil Marketing Company presented an overview of fuel transportation and distribution mechanisms, outlining the measures taken to support supply stability and meet local market needs, as well as the challenges facing distribution operations and how to address them.
The meeting comes at directives of Head of Government of National Unity, Abdulhamid Dbeibah, who previously tasked the head of Counter Financial Crimes, Money Laundering, and Terrorism Financing Agency with investigating the causes of congestion at gas stations and monitoring the status of stations closed or shut down without legal justification within the municipalities of Greater Tripoli, in order to ensure regular and stable fuel supplies.
Participants in the meeting included Chairman of National Oil Corporation, Masoud Suleiman; Director of Inspection and Follow-up Department at the Cabinet Office, Khalifa Shaliq; Director of Fuel Crisis Committee at the Ministry of Interior, Maj. Gen. Miloud Attia; Acting Chairman of Brega Oil Marketing Company; and representatives from distribution companies.
