Fuel prices climb again in Morocco

CASABLANCA – Fuel prices across Morocco witnessed another upward revision starting from Tuesday, adding renewed pressure on drivers and transport operators.

Under the latest bi-weekly adjustment, diesel increased by 34 centimes per litre, while premium gasoline (unleaded petrol) rose by 27 centimes per litre.

The move follows a modest bump on September 1, when diesel edged up by 6 centimes per litre. With this fresh hike, retail fuel prices reach new territory:

– Diesel: Rising to approximately 15.35 MAD per litre, up from around 15.00 MAD earlier this month.

– Gasoline: Pushing past the 15.20 MAD per litre threshold.

Retail rates may vary slightly depending on distributor margins, transport logistics, location and proximity to regional storage depots across the country.

Transport is a direct input for Morocco’s domestic supply chain, especially the distribution of agricultural goods from rural farms to urban markets. Surges in diesel prices immediately drive up freight costs, which vendors pass on to consumers in the form of higher prices for staple foods, fruits, and vegetables.
