Former Chiefs Captain Joins Lesotho Club

Lesotho club 05 United FC has brought in former Kaizer Chiefs skipper Tefu Mashamaite as head coach.

05 United competes in the A Division, which is the second tier of men’s domestic football in Lesotho.

Mashamaite arrived at the club recently, and he has been entrusted with the responsibility to guide the technical team.

The 41-year-old is not new to coaching. He had a brief stint with the Limpopo ABC Motsepe League side, Phalaborwa United, last year.

Mashamaite, who holds a SAFA CAF D Coaching License, lasted just two games in charge of Phalaborwa United but admitted that he had discovered that he still has the passion for the game.

Earlier indications are that he’s signed a three-year deal with 05 United. However, the club declined to confirm the details when contacted for a comment.

Mashamaite, who played for Chiefs between 2011 and 2015, was also not available.

05 United is based in Mohale’s Hoek, which is located about 125 km south of the national capital, Maseru.
