Fastjet Zimbabwe strengthens regional capacity with A320 jet

Fastjet Zimbabwe has officially welcomed an Airbus A320‑200 into its flying Programme, marking the aircraft’s debut at an event held on 2 August 2026 at Victoria Falls International Airport.

The A320 will operate during the peak travel months of August and September 2026, supporting high‑demand routes between Victoria Falls–Johannesburg and Harare–Johannesburg. Its introduction strengthens capacity on two of the airline’s busiest regional sectors.

During this period, Fastjet will also offer a Business Premium product on select flights. The service includes extra‑wide seats at the front of the aircraft, curated menu options with full bar service at designated times, access to business‑class lounges, and an enhanced baggage allowance of 46 kg.

Speaking at the welcome event, Fastjet Zimbabwe chairman Farai Mutamangira said the country’s aviation market continues to expand, noting the airline’s role over the past decade in stimulating demand and strengthening both domestic and regional connectivity.

Deputy minister of tourism and hospitality industry Hon. Tongai Mnangagwa praised Fastjet’s confidence in Zimbabwe, saying the A320 addition enhances national airlift capacity, improves destination accessibility and supports the country’s growing tourism profile.

In remarks delivered on his behalf, minister of transport and infrastructural development Hon. Felix Mhona congratulated the airline and encouraged Fastjet to explore ways of making the A320 a permanent part of its fleet, adding that the Ministry stands ready to support that ambition.
