Exam timeline shifted to free schools for December election — Eye Radio

The Ministry of General Education and Instruction will conduct national examinations in November, moving up the schedule to clear public schools for use as polling centers during the December 2026 general election.

Government Spokesperson Ateny Wek Ateny confirmed that Education Minister Dr. Kuyok Abol Kuyok presented the proposal to the Council of Ministers.

The adjustment allows schools to complete national examinations before December, when several educational facilities will serve as election polling sites.

The decision comes as the government prepares both the education system and public institutions for the upcoming vote.

“The Minister of Education and Instruction, Dr. Kuyok Abol Kuyok, presented to the Council of Ministers information that the Ministry of Education and Instruction wanted to reduce the time for national exams so that it allows the schools to be used for other purposes, like the election polling centers. It will be in November that the examination will be conducted,” said Ateny Wek, government spokesperson and Minister of ICT.
