Mapeza Departs After Champions League Exit

The Zimbabwean outfit confirmed the departure of head coach Norman Mapeza in the aftermath of their 3-2 aggregate defeat to Petro de Luanda, which saw the side knocked out of the CAF Champions League preliminary stages.

“Scottland FC advises its stakeholders, supporters and the football fraternity that it has parted ways with Head Coach Norman Mapeza with immediate effect,” the statement read.

“The club thanks Coach Mapeza for his service, commitment and contribution during his tenure and wishes him well in his future endeavours.”

Ndlovu Appointed as Interim Boss

The club confirmed that Ndlovu, who had been serving as team manager, has been appointed as interim head coach while the search for a permanent successor continues.

The decision comes after the club had sacked previous manager Tonderai Ndiraya at the end of last season — a campaign in which the club clinched the Castle PSL title in their debut season in the Zimbabwean top flight.

“Scottland FC remains firmly focused on its objectives for the remainder of the season and is committed to maintaining stability, unity and a competitive spirit within the team,” the side added.

“The club values the unwavering support of its stakeholders and supporters and calls for their continued trust and encouragement as we navigate this transition.”
