Everton linked with Folarin Balogun: Is this a good move for USA star?

Would a move to Everton be a good fit for the USMNT’s star striker Folarin Balogun?

According to reports from Fabrizio Romano and the BBC, Everton are interested in Balogun and will make a move late in the transfer window to sign him from Monaco.

Per the details, Everton are set to sell striker Beto to Fiorentina before Tuesday’s 6pm ET deadline and want a replacement. A report from Belgium also states that Balogun wants the move to Everton.

It is believed Balogun, 25, is valued at $50 million by Monaco but the 2026 World Cup star could be available for less than that as the Ligue 1 club need to raise funds.

Is this a good move for Balogun?

Yes, this is a very good fit for him and if he’s going to head back to the Premier League he has to be playing regularly.

He would automatically become Everton’s top striker, playing in front of Thierno Barry.

Barry is a fine striker and gets into some great positions, but he is still young and raw and his finishing isn’t of the same standard as Balogun’s.

For many years now Everton have been creating lots of chances but haven’t been able to put them away.

Balogun’s clinical and calm finishing would be perfect for them.

After coming through the ranks at Arsenal but never quite being able to break through, Balogun’s move to French football has worked out really well after prolific spells at Reims and then Monaco.

But after his superb World Cup for the USA this summer, now seems like the perfect time for him to move back to England’s top-flight and take the next step in his career.
