Etihad partners with Fastjet Zimbabwe to expand African network

Etihad Airways has entered into a new partnership with Fastjet Zimbabwe, expanding connectivity across Southern Africa. The agreement includes an interline partnership, a future codeshare and reciprocal frequent flyer benefits, with bookings opening on 24 August 2026.

The partnership aims to strengthen Etihad’s upcoming Abu Dhabi-Harare service, due to launch on 24 March 2027, extending the airline’s reach beyond Zimbabwe’s capital through onward domestic connections.

Customers flying with Etihad to Zimbabwe’s capital, Harare, will be able to travel onwards to Bulawayo, Victoria Falls and Johannesburg, South Africa, on Fastjet Zimbabwe services, while Fastjet customers can connect to Abu Dhabi and other destinations across Etihad’s global network.

The agreement will also see Fastjet Zimbabwe become the 32nd airline partner in the Etihad Guest loyalty programme, with reciprocal frequent flyer benefits planned for members of both airlines.

From Harare to Victoria Falls, travellers can now plan their journey across Zimbabwe on a single ticket.”

The development comes as the Abu Dhabi carrier continues rebuilding its network following disruption caused by the Iran conflict. The airline recently partnered with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) to introduce complimentary medical travel insurance for eligible international visitors travelling to or transiting through Abu Dhabi.
