Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty discussed with Liberian Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow Nyanti ways to further strengthen bilateral relations and exchanged views on a number of regional issues of mutual interest during a phone call on Friday, 11 September 2026.

The two ministers affirmed their commitment to further developing bilateral cooperation across various fields, particularly the economic, trade, development and capacity-building sectors, in a manner that reflects the strong political ties between the two countries and serves the shared interests of their two peoples.

They also underscored the importance of maintaining regular consultations, exploring new avenues for cooperation and making use of Egypt’s expertise and capabilities to support development efforts in Liberia.

The talks also addressed regional developments in Africa, particularly the situation in Sudan.

The two ministers exchanged views on efforts to promote security and stability and resolve regional crises through peaceful means, particularly in light of Liberia’s non-permanent membership of the UN Security Council, in a manner that supports Africa’s priorities and safeguards the continent’s interests at the Council.
