Exports reached USD 1.8 billion, while total bilateral trade climbed to USD 7.1 billion during the first six months of the year.
Egyptian exports to Saudi Arabia rose 20.5% during the first half of 2026, reaching USD 1.8 billion compared with USD 1.5 billion during the same period in 2025, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics.
Imports from Saudi Arabia increased 19.4% to USD 5.3 billion, bringing total trade between the two countries to USD 7.1 billion, up from USD 5.9 billion a year earlier.
Copper and copper products were Egypt’s largest export category to Saudi Arabia during the period, valued at USD 246.5 million. Electrical machinery, appliances and equipment followed at USD 215.9 million, while fruit exports reached USD 180.6 million.
Fuels, mineral oils and distillation products accounted for USD 157.6 million in exports, while clothing reached USD 78.2 million.
On the import side, fuels, mineral oils and distillation products dominated at USD 4 billion. Plastics and plastic products reached USD 719.8 million, followed by aluminium and aluminium products at USD 174.2 million, paper at USD 63.5 million and fruit at USD 11.9 million.
Saudi investments in Egypt reached USD 532.2 million during the first half of the 2025/2026 fiscal year, compared with USD 532 million during the same period a year earlier.
Remittances from Egyptians working in Saudi Arabia rose 50.6% to USD 12 billion during the 2024/2025 fiscal year, up from USD 8 billion in 2023/2024.
Remittances from Saudis working in Egypt also increased sharply, reaching USD 125.1 million in 2024/2025 compared with USD 11.6 million the previous year, an increase of 980%.
