Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) has reached an agreement with the Republic of Guinea over bauxite supplies.
The terms of the agreement include the renewal of the bauxite supply agreements under mutually beneficial commercial terms
EGA, alongside the Guinea government, and the Guinea Alumina Corporation (GAC) said it had reached an amicable agreement to settle a dispute about the interruption of bauxite supplies to EGA, including any dispute related to Compagnie des Bauxites de Guinée (CBG)
The agreement also includes payment by the Republic of Guinea of a lump sum to GAC after it ceased activities in the country.
The agreement includes the transfer of GAC’s assets to Nimba Mining Company (NMC) for the purpose of exploiting the Sangarédi bauxite project.
EGA said in line with the guiding principles set by the Simandou Strategic Committee, this agreement reflects the constructive effort to normalise and strengthen trade relations between the parties.
