ECOTALK: African wild dog declared extinct in Uganda

Uganda’s wildlife conservation efforts have recorded remarkable successes in recent years, from the return of rhinos to the restoration of giraffes in several protected areas. However, the African wild dog, one of Africa’s most remarkable predators, has remained absent from the country’s landscapes.

Recently declared extinct in the wild in Uganda during the launch of the Wildlife Status Report by the Uganda Wildlife Authority, the species may yet have a chance of making a comeback.
