The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) Ministry of Health reported 26 new, confirmed Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) caused by Bundibugyo Ebola, on June 14.
This brings the country’s outbreak total to 808 confirmed cases, still in three provinces- Ituri, North Kivu and South Kivu.
A breakdown of the 26 new cases from June 14 are as follows: Ituri (21): Mongbwalu (11), Nyankunde (4), Bunia (3), Rwampara (3)
and
North Kivu (5): Butembo (4), Katwa (1). The number of health zones affected remains at 31.
Concerning death, health officials report 11 new fatalities from confirmed cases, bringing the cumulative total to 192. This is a case fatality of 23.8%.
8 new patients declared recovered from EVD as of June 14 — 3 in Bunia and 5 in Rwampara, Ituri province. The cumulative number of recoveries has now reached 48 since the start of the epidemic.
